How to Apply

UWSP Students

After you have met with your adviser and decided on a program, it is time to to apply! Here are the application steps:

  1. Locate your program of interest using our program search. Click the "Apply Now" button within the program page to start your application.

  2. Follow the log-in prompts.

  3. Complete/submit the following required items:

    1. Your Application Form - a series of basic questions pertaining to you and your program.

    2. Your Statement of Commitment - a single page, typed essay in which you share your academic reasons as well as your personal motivation for participating in the selected program. You will be prompted to upload this document.

    3. Your Academic Record - you will be prompted to upload a current Degree Progress Report.

    4. Your Faculty Recommendation - you will be prompted to request this document on your application homepage. Have your recommender's name and email address on hand for this section.

    5. Your Academic Adviser Recommendation - you will be prompted to request this document on your application homepage. Have your adviser's name and email address on hand for this section.

    6. Your Passport information or Passport Commitment Acknowledgement 

    7. Your $100 non-refundable Study Abroad application fee (payable by cash/check/money order/credit/debit).

      8. ​Your signed acceptances of the Study Abroad Refund Policy and the Pre-Acceptance Acknowledgements form.

​​Once you have submitted all application items detailed above, your application will be reviewed by OIE. The possible outcomes are:

(1) accepted;
(2) conditionally-accepted;
(3) waitlisted; or
(4) denied.

Following OIE's review of your application, you will be notified of your status by email with guidance regarding next steps.

Non-UWSP Students

1. Please download your Application Form from our website. 

2. Pay your $100 non-refundable Study Abroad application fee by mailing a check or money order with deposit slip, to our Bursar's office:

3. Mail your application form to our office:

4. When your application form has been processed by our office and you have a UWSP student ID you will be notified by email that you can log into the OIE website and complete all the requirements for study abroad according to the list above.

(3) waitlisted; or
(4) denied.

Following OIE's review of your application, you will be notified of your status by email with guidance regarding next steps.
